{Kaitlin + Brent} Wedding Photography at Brasada Ranch – Bend, Oregon

December 16th, 2014 : Weddings

I could say a million nice things about {Kaitlin + Brent’s} wedding at Brasada Ranch but it wouldn’t be nearly as special as what Kaitlin wrote to Brent for their engagement session.  Here it is again and I believe her letter says it all when it comes to why we join forces with the ones we love.

When we first met, I immediately noticed your blue eyes and friendly smile. We spent the entire evening hanging out with friends dancing and having a great time. Your “dance hands” were out in full force that night — I knew then you were someone I could have fun with.

When I was house/dog sitting for a week and a big snowstorm hit Portland – you came and picked me up in your truck; drove to my parent’s house, and picked up my Mother so we could go to the grocery store to get groceries — I knew then you were a caretaker.

When we finally started dating and during one of our trips to Black Butte, you sat on the couch with 3-year-old Lizzie and read her stories from her book. I had never seen you interact with children before and was a bit afraid of how you would be. I couldn’t take my eyes off watching you play and read with her — I knew then you would be an amazing father.

When I flew back from a work trip in California late on a Friday night and we hoped in the truck from the airport and drove straight to Black Butte to play in the snow at 1am — I knew then you were my best friend.

When I decided to change jobs to something new, you encouraged me the entire way. No matter how scared I was, you gave me love and support — I knew then you would always be a supportive partner.

When you took me for the first time to your farm and we drove around on the tractor in the fields until it was completely dark outside — I knew then I loved you and always wanted to be a part of your life.

There are so many things I have learned from you and about you over the last few years. I am so thankful for all of these things, because now I know that I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you with all my heart!

xoxo, Kaitlin

December 2nd, 2014 : Weddings

We are excited to present {Julie Ann + Javad’s} beautifully intimate wedding out at Faith, Hope and Charity Vineyards.  Being hardcore cyclists, they wanted to incorporate their love of all things with two wheels by lining up their decorated bikes at the ceremony and that to me is what weddings are all about – showing the bonds that make you both a couple.  Congratulations to you both.  May the wind always be at your backs and your tires filled to the correct pressure always!  Cheers!!

{Holly + Jeff} Vandevert Ranch, Sunriver Oregon Wedding Photography

October 31st, 2014 : Weddings

A beautiful wedding in the woods of Oregon was the setting for {Holly + Jeff’s} wedding at Vandevert Ranch in Sunriver.  The ceremony location overlooked a picturesque river and the reception was only a short walk away taking guests underneath a circus tent for a rustic and elegant feel.  Directly behind the main tent was a stage and dance floor set for the awesome sounds of the band, “Hit Machine” who kept the dancing rockin and another separate tent set up as a scotch bar and lounge.  Thank you so much for choosing us as your wedding photographers for this amazing wedding you two!

For fun, see if you can locate the celeb in one of the photos!

{Jill + Nathan} Destination Wedding Photography in Duck On The Outer Banks, NC

October 4th, 2014 : Weddings

Words cannot describe the joy and emotion experienced when you see a close family member so in love and so in the moment on their wedding day!  I was honored to capture my sister-in-law and the love of her life as they married on the beaches of the Outer Banks of NC in Duck.  This delightful little town had incredible beaches, boardwalk and shops and was a perfect setting for their destination wedding.  Wendy was the matron of honor and put the camera down to share this special time with her sister, so I worked with a new friend and another talented artist, Jessica Arden to document these special moments!  As with practically every other wedding day this summer, we awoke to a bright sunny day with not a single cloud in the sky!  Everyone was delighted (after fretting the possibility of rain all week) and in the words of {Jill + Nathan}, “I wouldn’t have changed a single thing, it was a perfect day.”

They met in a sandbox at 3 years old, as their mothers have been friends for over 35 years, and although they crisscrossed life paths over the years, they always remained friends.  Nathan knew first that she was the one about 3 years before Jill did but when they finally came together, everyone knew that was IT!  It’s so cool to have an incredible family (The Willetts) to spend quality time with get to know this week!

We love you both and can’t wait to see where life takes you…we are here for you always!

{Stef + Jon} Caldera – Sisters, Oregon Wedding Photography

September 19th, 2014 : Weddings

{Stef + Jon} decided to get married in the heart of the Willamette National Forest near Sisters, Oregon with Mt Washington looming off in the distance and Blue lake right at your fingertips, (cold fingertips by the way, as this lake is the 3rd deepest in Oregon).  It was a no brainer for a couple that truly feels just as comfortable in the outdoors than anywhere!  Having gotten engaged in Zanzibar, East Africa and hooked on a love of travel, they decided to bring a bit of that culture to their wedding with gifts like the colorful purses you see in the basket below.  Wonderful touches to their ceremony such as family playing guitars at the beginning of the ceremony and wonderfully personal vows.  One really cool and unique idea was both Stef and Jon began walking with their parents at opposite ends of the ceremony site only to join together in the middle to begin their ceremony.  My favorite part of the evening came when a group of friends/family started a flash mob that definitely got the party rolling!  Congrats to you both and please enjoy the beautiful images!

Special thanks to the awesome people who made this happen including the fantastic food from Barrio Restaurant in Bend!!
