{Jill + Kent} Engagement Photography Session in Bend, Oregon & Mt Bachelor

November 23rd, 2014 : Engagements

We had a super fun engagement session with {Jill + Kent} who brought along their cute dog Corduroy!  Went over to Broken Top Resort for some images among the aspen trees and then up to Mt Bachelor for the snow and amazing views around Broken Top and Three Sisters Mountains.  Anytime we can have pets come with our clients we’re jazzed as it always lightens the mood and there’s always moments of comedy involved.  Congratulations on your upcoming wedding in the Bahama’s you two!!

{Monique + Tyler} Engagement Photography Session in Bend & Redmond, Oregon

November 19th, 2014 : Engagements

These two high school sweethearts we’re inseparable from the beginning from what it sounds like!  For {Monique + Tyler’s} engagement session I decided to take them over to this cool area in Redmond, Oregon that has always gotten Wendy and I excited as we drive past.  From there we went over to this super cool (literally) lava tube cave where we shot outside the mouth and the finish off the day with some industrial backgrounds in the Old Mill District of Bend, Oregon.  I had a fantastic time with you both and really cannot wait to spend more time with you both at your wedding next year!!

As a fun side note and story that’s too good to pass up telling, while I was at the local public pool working out in the gym area, (after of course Shelby’s swim lessons), I was working on this machine when I began eavesdropping on a conversation between two ladies who we’re talking about flower companies in town.  99% of the time I probably wouldn’t say anything but I asked if they we’re talking about weddings and it turned out they were.  One of the ladies told me that her daughter was getting married and she was 100% in wedding mode!  Well, when she brought up her daughters name in conversation….it turned out I was their wedding photographer!  I love this small world!!

{Jen + Victor} Engagement Photography Session Portland, Oregon

November 14th, 2014 : Engagements
{Jen + Victor} had their engagement session in Portland, Oregon recently and now you get to see the images of this beautiful couple!!  Peninsula Park was amazing with the beautiful roses (from the one and only rose city!) and spectacular fountain but it’s hard to pick a favorite as we also hit Cathedral Park which was super cool with it’s moody light at night.   Jen had obviously prepared for our session as her many natural poses made it seem like she modeled for a living rather than being a doc.   A much deserved special thanks to my brother Ted who assisted me as well and you guys rock for taking us to that awesome Mexican Restaurant!

{Kate + Erick} Bend, Oregon Wedding Engagement Photography Session

August 7th, 2014 : Engagements

We did this creatively swank engagement shoot with {Kate + Erick} recently at one of our favorite wedding venues in Bend to photograph, Brasada Ranch.  As a photographer, I don’t think I’ll ever feel like we’ve exhausted the different angles and compositions of any venue as it always seems like there’s always fun, new areas everywhere we look!  This was apparent as we checked out the yoga studio with the super cool metal barn door and the gym facility with the lava rock fireplace!  We wish you the most wonderful wedding in Hawaii coming up!!

{Ali + Robby} Bend, Oregon Wedding Engagement Photography Session

July 28th, 2014 : Engagements

I had a fantastic engagement session with Ali + Robby in Bend, Oregon when we made our way through the Old Mill District and into downtown Bend.  Wendy and I can’t wait to photograph your special day coming up next month at Black Butte Ranch and meet all your family & friends.  Enjoy!!

{Tyler + Travis} Portland, Oregon Wedding Engagement Photography Session

June 18th, 2014 : Engagements, Letter Series

Dear Trav,

If someone had told me at the beginning of freshmen year that I would marry the guy with the obscenely large orange messenger bag and Rainforest Café t-shirt, I think I would have laughed. And almost ten years later, I wake up every morning feeling so lucky to have you by my side.

Someone described you today as “very charming.” And while that sounded obsequious, they meant it as fact. And it’s true in the best sense of the word. Your charm comes from the fact that you are genuinely interested in the world around you and the people in it. I am constantly astounded by your attention and care for others, your grounded nature, and your thoroughly good and decent soul. Your intelligence and good looks would let you get away with being more of a jerk, but instead you have dedicated yourself to living with integrity, compassion, and honesty.

Thank you. Thank you for challenging me, for supporting me, for pushing me to do better and be better. Thank you for being kind to me when I’m being cranky, for being the best adventure partner a girl can ask for, and for not minding too much when I try and steal your food. Thank you for believing in me, and believing in us.

I can’t wait for the next bijillion years together.

I love you,
