To Ian, From Jenni: Portland Oregon Engagement Photography

April 18th, 2010 : Extra, Letter Series

Dear Ian –

While I am rarely at a loss for words, I struggle to articulate how excited I am to marry you.  We have both said that we know our life together is going to be amazing and so much fun and now we get to put it into action.  We make such an incredible team together, you are the perfect balance to me and I feel honored that you want me in your life forever.

When we first met, I was skeptical of meeting someone online.  But something about you drew me in even before I ever heard your voice.  Your eyes were kind and I could hear your sense of humor come through your typed words.  And everyday since we’ve met, you look at me with such sincerity and care, it makes me feel as though I am the only one in the room.  And while our first date was “interesting” to say the least, you had me laughing so hard my sides ached.  Those two traits kept me coming back for more….and more I will get!

So here is to a lifetime of raising our crazy pack of dogs, the never-ending list of home improvement projects, skiing, camping, our Sunday trips to the grocery store and planning for our next international adventure.  Whatever life holds for us, I want to do all of these things with you.  You are my best friend and I am so honored to have you in my life…

Love, Jen

Okay, we’re just going to start with a smokin’ hot one first.

‘You turn me right round baby right round, like a record baby, right round round round.’

A dainty, sweet moment :)

Jenni, I’m going to tell you one more time how much you rock those boots.

Fisheye love.

One of my all-time-f-a-v-o-r-i-t-e-s.

Ohhhh, classic shot of Ian.

That’s a keeper….

Here’s the second smokin’ hot one.  Get a room you two!  he he…

Pure bliss :)   Yum.

Love the vanishing lines here – this is classic urban chic.  You’re rockin’ it!

Thank you, to this particular graffiti artist who made my day. :)   Oh yeah, saved the best for last Jenni.

To Joe, From Meredith: Portland Oregon Engagement Photography

April 17th, 2010 : Engagements, Letter Series

My perfect match, Joe:

Three years ago this month you came into my life. I knew what I was looking for in a man, but really didn’t think I would find all those traits in one person. You must have made an impact on me during that first date because as you know, I was sitting there looking across the table at you and thought “this guy would make a great husband.” And you will.

Our time together so far has meant more to me than you could possibly know. You have shown me what it means to take risks and to follow my dreams. You have helped me grow into the woman I always knew I could be. For that I will be forever thankful.

July 3rd , our wedding day, will be the most special day of my life. I am so excited for you to be my husband and to be your wife. The future holds so many exciting things for us and I know we will embrace each one and have the life we have both always dreamed of having…… with each other.

I love you with everything I have and always will….

Meredith

Classic beauty.

Okay, this wins the most adorable award.

Thanks to the Kennedy School to providing this most FANTASTIC background.

This just embodies pure bliss you two.  We love the light on your face and shirt here Meredith!

With winds at sustained 30 mph on the Columbia River, we had to get a ‘Titanic’ inspired shot :)

…and this is for your refrigerator!  Such beautiful smiles.

Meredith and Joe, this is for you to remember sometimes cheesy just works :)

Portland, Oregon Engagement Photography Adventures

April 12th, 2010 : Extra

Travel you say?  Absolutely!  When given the opportunity to travel and shoot weddings or engagements sessions, we jump.  Like you say jump, we jump.  This past week we ventured to Portland (okay, more like hop, skip and a jump from Bend) to meet up with two fantastically funny couples for their engagement shoots.  When we say funny, we mean it!  They had us rolling laughter throughout the day, adding to the sunshine, which is oh so rare in Portland, Oregon.  Everything from hurricane winds on the Columbia River, purple boots, graffiti walls to drunken stories, we had so, so much fun with these two newly engaged couples.  Both of them actually share a similar secret – as a testament to eHarmony, both couples found love online!

Here’s a sneak peek of two of our favorites from each shoot (more to come this week!) and of course, some of us goofing around in a sea of blooming cherry blossoms right off 23rd avenue.  We hear you…and are going to be proactively posting more photos of the two of us.  Stay tuned for more of Meredith + Joe and Jenni + Ian…

We love this funky, one-of-a-kind shot :)   Meredith + Joe, you guys are too cute.

On the Columbia River in a brief moment of wind stall.  A shot of simple romance…

Jenni + Ian in their funky, one-of-a-kind shot!  Jenni, you’re fearless…

Love, love, love this :)   Blow kisses anyone?  Portland has the most fantastic urban settings…

Wendy is so classic – what a cutie :)

Fun with the bloooooming cherry blossoms!

My ‘give me some attitude’ look (a well used saying for all clients).

And of course, myself in true form.  :)

{Monica + Todd} Wedding Photography; Awbrey Glen Bend, Oregon

April 4th, 2010 : .Weddings

Simple beauty.  Two words to describe Monica and Todd and their wedding day.  They share a simple, obvious love that was captured with family and friends to witness recently at Awbrey Glen Golf Club in Bend, Oregon.  We had the fortunate pleasure to play paparazzi to this fantastic couple and document their wedding journey.  From champagne in the dressing room, to a long first wedding kiss and waving golfers as they pass by…it was a fun, eventful day!  One of our favorite moments was when the officiant signed their wedding certificate, the last to make it official, as Monica and Todd embraced in the background. :)

Thank you, Monica and Todd.  We had a lot of fun (and even ran into a few friends!).  We wish you and your family  the best and look forward to sharing more of life’s experiences (Monica is a life coach and Toastmaster friend) in and around Bend!  A toast to you as you embark together on the next chapter…

Best,

Byron and Wendy

A stunning bride…just look at those eyes!

Aren’t those the best group of men you’ve seen?

The transformed Awbrey Glen Golf Club…

The first kiss and new wedding band to seal the ceremony.

The maid of honor and their daughter waits patiently in the receiving line. :)

They seriously picked the one 60 degree day in March in Bend – a serendipitous treat!

Blowing kisses to the bride and groom :)

Oh, I think she enjoyed the cake – don’t you?!

The first dance…

A tribute to Todd’s mother, there in spirit and remembered…
