Downtown Bend, Oregon Personal Assingment #2…Reflections and Shadows Plus Some Letters and Curves

July 28th, 2009 : Personal

Having been on a few more personal Friday quests to push the envelope and see things differently, here are the results.  We’ve been meeting at Thump Coffee Shop to watch the Tour (De France) stage for that day and then wandering around for an hour or so with open minds and a camera in hand.  Last week we did the alphabet but I’m not going to post 26 photos of that…only the most abstract will end up here.

I call this one, “No driving Ms. Daisy today”

High Desert Omnium Road Race In Bend, Oregon

July 18th, 2009 : Extras

Being an avid athlete of a few sports, one of my passions is cycling.  If I can train and not go flying off the back of the peloton, I even love to race. Rather than racing this day, I had the opportunity to ride on the back of a motorcycle bike to shoot the action. I haven’t been on a moto really since my motocross days and I’ve only ridden a street bike once in my life.  Sitting backwards on this moto while Bob hit 95mph was quite thrilling and when we slowed down (at some point), the photography was really rewarding as we were able to get up super close to watch the action without being a problem for the riders. Thank’s Bob for keeping me and my equipment safe!  Enjoy the highlights and check the gallery for more!

Bryanne And Bobby’s Engagement Session Around Downtown Bend Oregon

July 17th, 2009 : Engagements

When you see younger couples (ok…were all young at heart!) with their ducks in order, it’s reassuring and inspiring.  You can just tell by looking at the images of Bryanne and Bobby, taken around Bend, Oregon, that it’s all about being centered and balanced in life.  Wendy and I had a great time creating these images with the two love birds and we can’t wait for the wedding.  Cheers!

Model Photoshoot of Iguana in Krakow, Poland

July 17th, 2009 : Portraits

So I was recently in Krakow and the amazing gothic architecture within the city prompted me to drum up this spur of the moment photoshoot.  After a day on my feet in Oswiecim I ran back to the city and met up with Iguana and her boyfriend.  They took me to this very old cemetary on the outskirts of the city where we had some great fun overcoming language barriers and creating moody situations.  You might say this is a little stretch from weddings…just a little.   I’m finding more and more though that taking myself out of those comfort zones (we all get into) has been the most rewarding bonus for my creativity.  Thanks Igi for helping open my mind up to all the new possibilities!

Denise and Jimmer Engagement Images; Tumalo Falls Central Oregon

July 15th, 2009 : Engagements

It takes adventurous souls to go where few people have gone (practically underneath Tumalo Falls) for a photo shoot but Denise and Jimmer share adventure and love for the outdoors by nature.  The shoot was filled with spontaneous moments and strong images.  You can’t deny the connection between the two of them and it was a gift to be able to capture that in images they can share indefinately.  We even pulled out the 1973 Red Huffy (all original) tandem for some downtown night shots!  Thanks you two and we’ll see you in about a month for your big day :)

Shelly & Kevin Enjoy Their Central Oregon Wedding At Aspen Hall

July 14th, 2009 : .Weddings

Shelly and Kevin had a beautiful wedding day with the focus on enjoying their special day with family and friends.  I love a wedding that starts out with the men toasting the groom before the ceremony (only one of course!) and with the pink parasol and beautiful eyes of Shelly the images could not have turned out better.  The children at weddings are always fun to photograph and we all had a great time rolling on the grass that day.  Congratulations to Shelly and Kevin.  Eternal bliss to you both.
