Portraits with Kendra – Fall in Downtown Bend Oregon
Wow! The leaves were in its full glory this weekend as the fall colors hit its peak here in Bend, Oregon. Portraits were taken at Pioneer Park and downtown Bend, Oregon for a bit of an urban feel. It was great to try new things with Kendra and her best friend, Haley (Golden Retriever). Thanks for a great shoot!
Fall Colors Surrounding Tumalo Falls and North Fork
Wendy and I took our dogs and a camera on an excursion today. Our mission was to capture the falls in all its glory with the yellow and orange colors, (OK, and to give our dogs Miles and Dizzy some exercise as well). We also hiked up North Fork to some of the smaller falls and this proved to be fun for the labs as well.
8th Annual Kubota Family Photo Day in the Park-Bend, Oregon
Last Sunday I had the opportunity to work with a number of talented Bend, Oregon photographers, including the world renowned digital guru himself-Kevin Kubota, to support our awesome community. Kubota Photo Design organizes a day of free portrait sessions for Central Oregon families that are in need or in crisis. A free 8×10, two 5×7 prints, and a CD of the photographer’s favorite image are given to those who would not otherwise be able to afford a professional photo session. Photography is such a powerful medium to us as humans and to have families tell me that the photo I took was the first of their children since they were born reminded me that a career in photography is an important responsibility never to be taken lightly. Here are some photos I shot from that day and a photo of the crew (I’m sitting on the left).
Autumn in Shevlin Park with Bob and Margaret Havard
Thank you Bob and Margaret for such a wonderful shoot! Shevlin Park in Bend, Oregon is in full bloom this autumn and it couldn’t be a more spectacular place for on location portraits. It was helpful to have two such joyful spirits to work and experiment with. It was great to catch up with you guys!
Bringing out Kelsi with soft light
In order to test out some new lighting equipment, we decided to take a friend – Kelsi Erkkila – out for some fun shooting. Thanks for being a great sport, Kelsi…these photos capture the soft, sexy side that we all love! Our testing included varied light positions with umbrellas and other diffusers, and shooting tethered into our laptop. And no, Kelsi doesn’t wear contacts, her eyes really are different colors like you see!
Scott Bedbury Presentation for Central Oregon AdFed
Marketing guru Scott Bedbury spoke recently for the Western Regional Conference 2008 for the Central Oregon AdFed AdBite series. He’s presentation was a great reminder of the main principles behind all aspects of marketing – mainly, the connection that is created between a brand and their audience and why successful brands win. Scott was in part responsible for Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ and Starbucks’ early campaigns. Thank you to the Central Oregon AdFed for inviting me to shoot such an inspiring event.
