The Majestic Eagle Cap Wilderness Engagement Session with {Kim + Kurt}; Joseph, Oregon

July 19th, 2013

Kurt,

When we first met, I knew instantly that I had made a friend. As we spoke and laughed, I had an inkling I had made a best friend. When we first kissed, I knew this was something big. And it wasn’t too long before I knew we could be a team for life.

You are, quite literally, one of the most honest and genuine people I’ve ever known in my life. You are so sure of who you are and what is important to you. Just being with you I’ve become more honest in who I am, because you accept and love all of me, including what I see as good or bad qualities. The comfort of knowing that I can truly be myself around you always is a feeling almost indescribable, and one that I am more grateful for every single day.

What I love most about you is how you have such an incredible sense of adventure and a seemingly insatiable appetite to see and experience the world, and yet your strongest values are family, home and strong roots. Because traveling the world is incredible, but what good is it unless there’s someone to share it with, and somewhere to bring the stories home to? Family is everything to you, and I am so incredibly excited to both join ours, and begin our very own.

What I look forward to on our wedding day is after the vows, the kiss, the whole ceremony…I look forward to that first moment that we get to share by ourselves, as husband and wife, when I’ll ask you if there’s mascara under my eyes from crying and you’ll ask if there’s anything in your teeth because you grabbed some food right before the ceremony. And as a team, we’ll make ourselves presentable and go on to the party.

I love you, Kurt. You challenge me, make me feel beautiful and loved, and you always know how to make me laugh. Sometimes you make others laugh too (but don’t let it go to your head).

Always and forever,
Kim
